As a CONGREGATION of the church of Jesus Christ and recognising that we are under the universal purpose to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that Christ has commanded us, we will seek by the grace of God to practise the following specific purposes.
Worship
WE WILL SEEK to worship God in public and private reverently and humbly. In seeking to worship God publicly with warmth and joy we will prepare ourselves before coming to public worship by meditating upon a passage of the Bible and prayer. We will offer friendship to any visitors to our worship and will take the responsibility to ensure that they are visited within two days of their attendance at worship.
Growth In Grace
WE ACKNOWLEDGE that we cannot be of value to Christ or the world if we are not growing in our spiritual knowledge. Therefore we will persevere and encourage one another in our reading of the Bible and prayer in private, in family devotions and in mid-week meetings of the church family.
Service
WE WILL SEEK to follow the biblical injunction to ‘do good to all’, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Outreach
AS GOD GIVES us opportunity and ability we will seek to promote the gospel by, inviting people to public worship, taking every opportunity to promote functions organised for outreach, taking every opportunity to promote our local work amongst children and youth and the children’s youth work of the Department of Christian Education of the Presbyterian Church.
